New chickens for the farm
Saturday 4th November | No comments yet
Farm Club set off after school on Monday 3rd October to buy lots of new chickens for the school farm. Our flock had become depleted over the years due to old age, and very sadly a number were killed by travellers when they set up a site next to the school.
We went to Hinchcliffe’s Farm past Huddersfield to buy our chickens: we got some Light Sussex, Colombian Black tip, commercial hybrid, White Star and Rhode Rock. We also bought a special bird called a Cheshire Blue that is laying very special blue eggs! Four of the chickens were sponsored by families.
